SEO Internship

You are: Fascinated by the puzzle that is Google and you want to help cool brands drive traffic to their site.
 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Intern who will be responsible for assisting our team with keyword research, link building, on-site optimization, as well as any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. As part of the Rolling Hills Media team, you’ll learn how search plays a critical role in today’s business, and how to organically grow traffic for websites. If you want to build your skills in one of today’s most important digital marketing strategies, this is the internship for you!

This is a paid internship over a three month time period. Ideal candidates will be available 10-20 hours per week and can commit a minimum of three months. The internship may lead to a full-time position for the right person.
 

Intern Responsibilities
 

  • Work with the RHM team to help execute SEO strategies for clients, including keyword research, link building, and on-site optimization.

  • Create high-quality, search engine optimized content

  • Research competitors of assigned clients

  • Assist with local search engine optimization tactics when needed

  • Assist in tracking, reporting, and analyzing website analytics to help identify trends and opportunities

  • Staying abreast of the latest search engine changes and industry trends

  • Attend various virtual team meetings


 

Education/Experience

 

Must-haves:

  • You are studying for or have a university degree in writing or journalism, Digital Marketing, Marketing, Communications, or tech-related field.

  • No previous SEO experience required, we will train the right person

  • Self-motivated, strong organizational skills, ability to multitask

  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading skills, and verbal communication skills.

  • Possess the energy, ambition, as well as the desire to succeed and learn

  • You don't take yourself too seriously


Brownie Points:

  • Working knowledge of popular CMS’ ( WordPress, Drupal, Squarespace, Hubspot, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and Search Console

  • A solid understanding of SEO techniques

Work Location: Remote, but the ability to easily travel to Napa, California, or Boston, MA is preferred.

Rate: $15/hr
